Mind & Money

disclaimer!
I am writing this purely for selfish reasons.
which contradicts everything I am about to preach to you.
I think that's an inherited quality most humans possess anyway. so here we go. (This will make sense later)
Money is not only a human construct
The history of money goes back to the Ancient world and then traced back further to our ancestors in the form of barter.
- Here have a sharp stick, but give me those berries!
- Here have five cows but I want you to defend my house if we are attacked.
- Here are ten Denaries coins in return for three sacks of grain.
- Here is $5 I would like an Oatmilk Cocoa Macchiato... and my name is SAM spelt S A M.
- Here is my Crypto wallet transfer me 100 dogecoin and I'll pay you with a pizza. (we have gone full circle)
In all seriousness...
money is the energetic force we as a society have created to transfer value and fix each other's problems.
Money is not a human construct it has been an energetic force that has existed since the dawn of man.
Humanity has harnessed this force through the creation of perceived value.
A gold coin
A piece of paper
A Digital number
In essence, it has derived from man's need and desire to fix problems and seek some form of gain in solving them.
A more complex scenario
Problem: I don't know how to play tennis.
Pain Point: Friends I play with always get frustrated when I miss.
Solution: Hire a coach.
Coach: That will be $900 your gonna need at least 10 lessons.
Resolution: Maybe he got better or maybe he didn't?
I believe a crucial factor in how much better he got wasn't the coach but his perception of money and or pain.
Was $900 a lot for him?
Was the pain point strong enough to drive him to improve?
Both are more important than the coach's ability to teach, though this is still important.
You see money is interpreted differently by everyone and this perception alters the value and power of it.
If you grow up poor you can think one of two ways...
"I don't think I will ever have money as no one I know has it"
"I really need to make money so I don't stay poor like everyone I know"
Both statements will hold true as they are inner beliefs and as a result, the brain and subconscious always seek to validate our beliefs.
Side note (This is how social media today is adding fuel to the fire when it comes to creating polarity between people with their algorithms.)
The Book Psycho Cybernetics highlights an interesting story.
A salesman who earns on commission always arrives around the same ballpoint regarding his yearly earnings.
The boss puts him in a cheap rundown area where he will struggle to earn...
He makes around $5000
The boss then amazed by his results puts him in the most lucrative suburb to rack in more.
He makes around $5000
The boss is perplexed by this puts him in a middle-class area
He makes around $5000
The author Maxwell Maltz put it simply
“He thought of himself as a $5,000-per-year man and as long as he held that concept of himself, outside conditions didn’t seem to matter much.”
You see the BIG problem is people's perception of themselves and their value.
Whatever they believe usually holds true.
"Everyone can be a millionaire... if they are willing to change their beliefs around money". Charlie Morgan entrepreneur.
How do we change our beliefs?
Beliefs are sticky.....
when you allow them to sink in they act like gum on a wall.
The longer you leave it there the harder it is to get off.
but you can still get it off.
Just add some more elbow grease...
To change your beliefs around money you need to change 3 factors.
1. Your Awareness of the self
2. Revaluation
3. Your Environment (read more about the impact of your environment here)
William James who founded Harvard's Department of Psychology said this. "Believe and your belief will create the fact"
All things are possible if you believe them to be.
Napoleon Hill, the inspiration for this article, describes how you are not ready for what you truly want until you believe you can get it.
Your results are nothing but the manifestation of your beliefs.
This Statement from Think and Grow Rich outlines the clarity needed to achieve your desired monetary success.
“Write out a clear, concise statement of the amount of money you intend to acquire, name the time limit for its acquisition, state what you intend to give in return for the money, and describe clearly the plan through which you intend to accumulate it.”
Notice the clarity here.
A clear goal.
A Simple nudge to the subconscious mind on the direction you plan on taking.
If you don't believe in this statement or believe it to be voodoo, then don't expect anything to fall into place.
Your subconscious mind will read the sentence and reject it in its entirety.
"I can't make that much"
"How could I make that?"
"Why would someone like me earn that much"
these derive from your inner critic who pulls the strings on your decisions.
these statements come to mind as you write down the amount you desire...
If they aren't then make that amount higher!
The sentences are your inner beliefs, spawned over time, to conform you to your present reality and confine you to safety.
The mind and body don't want you to become uncomfortable it wants you to be safe.
That's its priority.
SELF AWARENESS
- Step one to changing your beliefs is to bring awareness to them
Getting that gum off the wall no matter how hard it is stuck.
Sit down and write down all your beliefs about money.
This is based on your experience, question those beliefs and challenge them!
Belief
"I don't know how to make that much money"
Revaluation
- The second step is to reevaluate and challenge these beliefs
Challenge
"If I just start there's no reason why I couldn't figure out the how over time?"
"I would surely get better at whatever skill or monetary goal I am aiming for than if I was to not do anything, right?"
Environment
- Change your Environment.
The Third step to changing your beliefs is perhaps the most important.
I go over the environment in more detail here.

But in short.
Change your friend group.
Love them from afar if they don't make close to what you're aiming for and if they don't intend to do so, they will drag you down with the same beliefs you are trying to change.
Change your location if possible.
Go somewhere where money flourishes, and business gets done.
If that seems a bit extreme start with your bedroom.
yes, your bedroom.
Create a library of success and financial books to draw from.
Hang up that poster of that businessman you idolise.
Write up your favourite quotes from passages you have read or statements from mentors you respect.
Self Awareness
Revaluation
Environment
Change your beliefs and change your reality.
Download that new software update and stop running the old garbage.
The Mind is a program.
You wouldn't put vegetable oil in a Ferrari.
Download that new belief on how much you want to acquire and by when.
Then write it down and present it somewhere obvious where you will glance over it every day.
morning and evening.
(This is where the subconscious mind is most open to external impressions)
Leave out the HOW for now but be sure to add that later once you fill that gap!
Giving is Receiving
We have learnt about perception and the workings of inner beliefs and more importantly how to change them.
Now we move on to the energy that prints money on demand.
In the beginning, I mentioned that money has derived from humanity's need to fix each other's problems.
Money grows where problems sow the soil.
Cultivate people's problems with solutions
I also mentioned how I am being selfish in writing this article because it is helping me reevaluate and challenge my beliefs.
Most of those examples of inner beliefs I wrote were my own...
By writing I can bring Awareness to the belief and Re-evaluate it.
Now I am going to contradict myself here and move on to the most important mindset to gaining wealth following the alteration of your limiting beliefs.
The importance of giving.
"the secret to living is giving." Tony Robbins
I started writing this article to help myself better understand and synthesise information relating to the mindset of money.
I started it for selfish reasons.
I wrote this with the intent to fix my problems.
However.
By publishing it and putting it out there I intend to help fix your problems.
If it's a problem I face surely other people also have this same problem?
By writing for an audience and knowing that I am helping others. (be it a few people who have read to the end.)
The result has provided me with more...
1. Energy
2. Focus
3. Intentional writing
4. Clarity
5. Insight
This is all because my actions are intentionally serving someone else.
If I were to write this for myself, and only me, I would still gain some benefit.
But nowhere near the amount I have gained from writing with the intent to fix another man's problem.
"A change of focus and a change in meaning can literally change your biochemistry in a matter of minutes. Learning to master this becomes an emotional game changer." Tony Robbins
By aligning your work towards helping others, you are tapping into an unlimited pool of energy.
Fixing the void of problems people encounter will only help fill your pockets as a by-product.
Don't start a brand to get rich.....
Start a brand with the intent to fix another man's problem.
be it small or big.
Bring Value, lose the entitlement.
It stems back to our evolution as humans. We are communal beings created to work and support one another.
Money hasn't changed in the past 1000 years. It has by name but not by principle.
It's an exchange of value provided to fix each other's problems. (By now you have hopefully got this statement drilled into you)
How big the problem or pain correlates to how much money one can receive in return.
The rule of reciprocation.
To give away more than you take will compound into one big return eventually...
You have to be patient and sincerely love the value you are providing.
Money and time might be humanity's greatest invention.
you can buy more time with money and you can accumulate more money with time.
that amount of money is subject to the value you provide.
Become valuable.
Thanks for reading this far. I hope it has given you some inspiration to help your fellow man and see money as a consequence of our own inner beliefs and perspectives.
Go and fix the problems that you can uniquely solve.
